Question:
I need advice on quitting smoking. I have smoked a pack a day for 31 years! I tried once to quit, with patches?

and it worked fairly well...but both my husband and I were quitting together. We lasted a couple of months.
I want to use the patches again, I am down to 1/2 pack a day for last couple of years, so I think the patches are good.
But for behaviour modefication I think the EZ Quit cigarettes may help....
So patches, with EZ Quit....what does anyone think?
I am thinking to do this in....a couple of weeks?
Any advice I can get will do nothing but help.
Thanks!!!

I smoked for about 45 years and smoked 3 packs a day for the last 10 years. I just went cold turkey and it was hell for about year. But I think you get to rely on the patches just like you do cigarettes and get addicted to them. Just tapering off didn't help either because you still have the need to smoke. You have to really make up your mind you are going to quit and just take the bull by the horns and do it, one day at a time. After a few weeks you will still want to smoke but tell yourself the weeks you suffered from not smoking would have just been wasted. You can do it, I know you can.

I smoked for a couple of years then decided i needed 2 stop. I just replaced the habit with something else! Everytime i felt like one i wud either go for a walk or jog. I also brushed my teeth sometimes when i felt like 1. Dont know bout u but i hated smoking after brushing my teeth! Try lollipops too! they helped me loads while at work.
