It's all about money. The "health industry" makes tons of money because of the high price level of health care in the US. This makes insurances crazily expensive and unaffordable for the poorer people. Lots of people benefiting from that, but lots more losing. (~50 millions..)

Other countries have much stricter regulations so universal health care works for them. However, this is the US and everyone asking for regulation is automatically a communist. The government only helps the rich (banks, 700+800 billion bailout packages) but lets the poor die. Nobody with the necessary power really cares, because there is no compassion and cooperativeness in this country, despite its christian roots.

Universal health care is feasible in these countries because they are smaller & more manageable. Their citizens are less demanding and can wait for an elective procedure like hernia repairs for months. The American consumer will not tolerate the waiting time nor will they tolerate any form of pain. Understand that universal health care is rationed health care. You will wait in line even if you will pay sixty percent of your hard earned income to provide universal coverage to a segment of society that doesn't work or contirbute to the taxes of the nation or share in the collective efforts to make our lives better. Sure we are 42nd for life expectancy but do you know there are more than 200 nations in our world. Being in the top quarter isn't bad.You will also remove the best & the brightest to serve as physicians because you will remove the financial incentive to be physicians which requires 23-25 years of education to be a physician and not all physicians are altruistic in nature. You will attract the mediocre to be the keepers of our nations health. In the history of mankind, the medicine man was revered. Now, they are becoming the pawns in the political/social warfare between the haves & havenots. Lets see if they apply the same rule to lawyers. Limit frivolous lawsuits with tort reform so health insurance cost becomes lower. Of course the American Bar Association won't allow that. How else can an ambulance chaser like Edwards earn his millions and run for the presidency of the United States. Remember, Washington DC was made up of lawyers. They will defend their rights to earn millions/billions on our expense, the embattled middleclass. Cap the drug companies from gauging the system for billions of dollars for charging high drug prices in the guise of getting their reseach and development capital back. Health insurance carriers are making billions by making nonpayments to the poor patient who needs the care and yearly increasing the insurance cost of healthy individuals. You let govermnet run health care? be careful what you wish for because it may become your reality. You may be wishing for the good old days of medicine when you are told that the coronary angioplasty you need is not available for the next 6 weeks since this is now considered an "elective procedure" decided by some bureaucrat hired by the universal health care administration to cut on cost, that your life can be sacrificed for the betterment of the many. Doesn't this sound Darwinian or even Marxist? You wouldn't care because you will be dead & buried 6 feet under the ground pushing daisies before that scheduled 6th week elective angioplasty apponintment comes.

precisely. another stepped forward usa has some form of standard wellbeing care plan, and that all of them pay 0.5 as a lot for the comparable point of care (judged the two by client delight or effects). the project is that human beings say many times that we choose a 'Canadian form' single payer plan the place medical doctors, hospitals and clinics are nonetheless inner maximum, commercial, and for-income, yet our scientific coverage marketplace is so effective that when a common coverage plan is proposed it constantly in touch perpetuating and reinforcing the present coverage regime. GHW Bush had a plan, invoice and Hillary had a plan, and the two Hilary and Obama had plans in this election, and that all of them had this option in difficulty-free, that the present coverage companies remained in place, bolstered by extensive federal subsidies, and the government. buys scientific coverage for -some- uninsured from those businesses at their going fees. So i do no longer understand what it is going to take to get good commonly used get right of entry to to wellbeing care interior the US. meanwhile, the fee we pay for wellbeing coverage has risen 80% because of the fact Bush grew to become president, and it replace into seen a disaster even earlier that!
