ditto the last answer but it's actually called a navel. it's a scar from birth from having the umbilical cord removed. I'm sure ppl call it a bellybutton cuz that's what it looks like, but the technical definition is at the source I listed.

We all have a bellybutton because we all had to have an umbilical cord connected to us when we were in the womb. It is called a belly button because it looks lile a button and it's right on your belly.
