Maggie: Well...umm...tear ducts operate on a normal basis to lubricate and protect the eye and when you have an emotion they overreact and create tears.

i think people cry when they feel sad because they often think about bad thingz and the heart cant take it and the emotion goes to the eyes but that's a good question
